The First Christian Church in Somerset, PA was searching, found us and offered to have a Work Day at the Center. They arrived early in the morning on May 30th with a large group of energetic people, tools, food and supplies to take on their tasks. They worked hard and in just hours made a noticeable difference in our building. Broken tiles were replaced and the floors were really scrubbed in the game room, cubbies were built for the kids to use as lockers, weeds were whacked down, the garden patch cleared, a major cleaning of the kitchen was undertaken, the stairs leading into the building were replaced and the homeless closet was organized.
From the website they read about the different supplies needed at His Place and brought some of everything: Bibles and Christian books for different ages, socks, cleaning supplies, candy, snacks, school supplies, cups, lemonade and cookies for the homeless and more.
